An established and busy small animal veterinary hospital in Kempton Park, East Rand, is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Small Animal Veterinarian to join its close-knit team.

This practice forms part of a group of three veterinary practices that work closely together, creating a supportive environment where collaboration, knowledge-sharing and continuous professional development are encouraged. The hospital primarily cares for dogs and cats and offers a diverse range of medical and surgical cases.

The Opportunity

The Ideal Candidate

The practice is looking for a full-time Small Animal Veterinarian who:

The position involves consecutive or split 7-hour shifts, as well as every third weekend.

The role

  • Conducting routine and advanced medical consultations
  • Diagnosing and managing a wide range of small animal medical conditions
  • Performing surgical procedures and overseeing peri-operative patient care
  • Delivering compassionate, clear client communication and education
  • Managing in-hospital patients and contributing to treatment planning
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and adhering to hospital protocols

Minimum requirements

  • Has approximately 2 years’ post-graduate veterinary experience
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to patient care and client service
  • Thrives in a team-oriented environment with open communication
  • Enjoys working in a busy, modern, and well-resourced hospital
  • Is dedicated to continuous learning and professional development
  • Is registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
