We are seeking an experienced Lab Technician / Optical Dispenser to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the optical laboratory. The successful candidate will be primarily involved in edging, surfacing, lens fitting, quality control, and ensuring the smooth running of the lab. When required, you will also assist with dispensing and delivering exceptional customer service to patients. The role
- Perform lens edging, surfacing, fitting, and quality control
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure efficient workflow
- Assist with spectacle dispensing and frame selection when required
- Provide professional and friendly service to patients
- Work closely with the practice team to ensure outstanding patient care
Minimum requirements
- Previous experience in an optical laboratory environment
- Strong edging and surfacing experience
- Knowledge of optical lenses, frames, and dispensing procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Dispensing experience will be advantageous
- Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
