CPD regulations have been revised.

Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians are to maintain at least 30 CPD points a
year, or else 60 CPD points over a 24 month period.
The
following is a brief summary of some of the avenues available to Optometrists
and Dispensing Opticians wishing to keep up their CPD points. All the entities listed are based in
South Africa. It is worth noting
that it is possible to pursue CPD activities through programmes offered by the
country in which you are employed and then provide documentary proof of the
programme completed to a South African Accreditor (the names of which are listed
at the bottom of the page). The
SAOA website provides more information in this regard (www.saoa.co.za).
